In this light seated class, we’re introducing some concepts we’ll dive into later in this series: cultivating internal awareness (Pratyahara or Interoception) and also bringing awareness to the breath.

Through light, connected movements, we’ll begin the coordination of breath and movement – which is the foundation of Vinyasa yoga. Vinyasa yoga is, very simply, movement with breath.

While most of this series borders between a hatha-style of yoga, gentle and restorative yoga, our studio is a Vinyasa-based studio. We’ll weave in more about what all those terms mean in this series, and in future series, with us.
